General Motors Orion Township, Michigan plant which is under construction being expanded can be seen in the background of this shot. As of this publication the plant is manufacturing the Chevrolet Bolt and the Bolt EUV both fully electric vehicles.

Here is some general information about the GM Orion Assembly Plant:

1. Location: The GM Orion Assembly Plant is situated in Orion Township, Michigan, which is about 30 miles north of Detroit.
2. Production: The plant is responsible for manufacturing various General Motors vehicles, including current electric vehicles (EVs) Chevrolet Bolt, and Chevrolet Bolt EUV. Soon it will manufacture the Chevrolet SilveradoEV and GMC Sierra EV Pickup trucks. Most likely the Bolt/EUV production will move elsewhere.
3. Electric Vehicles: One of the most notable products from the GM Orion Assembly Plant is the Chevrolet Bolt EV, an all-electric compact car. Additionally, the plant produced the Chevrolet Sonic, but production of the Sonic ended in 2020.
4. Investment in EVs: General Motors has made significant investments in electric vehicle manufacturing, and the Orion Assembly Plant has been a key player in this transition to electric mobility. As of January 2022 GM announced a $4 billion expansion into this plant for the manufacture the Chevrolet SilveradoEV and GMC Sierra EV Pickup trucks.
