- The 280Z was introduced in 1975 and featured a larger 2.8-liter engine. It also had some cosmetic changes, including a new hood, grille, and taillights. The 280Z was produced until 1978.
- In 1979, the 280ZX was introduced. It had a more modern design and was larger and heavier than the earlier Z cars. The 280ZX was produced until 1983.
- In 1984, the 300ZX was introduced. It was the first Z car to feature a turbocharged engine, and it also had advanced features like digital instrumentation and a computer-controlled suspension. The 300ZX was produced until 1996.
- In 1990, Nissan introduced the 300ZX Twin Turbo, which had a twin-turbocharged engine that produced 300 horsepower. It was one of the fastest and most advanced sports cars of its time.
- The Z car was not produced for several years after the 300ZX was discontinued. However, in 2003, Nissan introduced the 350Z, which was a modern interpretation of the classic Z car. It was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produced up to 306 horsepower.
- In 2009, the 370Z was introduced. It had a larger 3.7-liter engine that produced up to 350 horsepower, and it featured a sleek, aerodynamic design.
- The 370Z was produced until 2020, when Nissan announced that it would discontinue the Z car in its current form. However, Nissan has also announced that a new Z car will be introduced in the near future, which will be called the Nissan Z.
