This was before General Motors was heading like a failing jet straight into bankruptcy they had owned the Saab brand for a number of years. They were even trying their very best to market the Saab brands heritage as “Being Born from Jets” who cares, you are selling cars and General Motors had no aerospace interests at the time. In fact Saab Aerospace is an entirely separate company and had nothing to do with the Saab Automotive group.
